Direct mail advertising has been proven to be a very effective marketing tool for businesses in Miami FL. Catalog mailing is one very important aspect of direct mail advertising that you need to look into and maximize in order to grow your Miami FL business.

There are many proven advantages to catalog mailing. In fact, it is considered to be one of the best ways to sell products and services. Some 167 million consumers per year make purchases from mailed catalogs. Each buyer on the average places some 11 orders a year. That’s 1.8 billion sales transactions per year. The combined purchases of individual consumers and businesses from catalog mailings per year come to about $150 billion. Wouldn’t you want a slice of that huge pie?

According to statistics, roughly half of existing consumers shop online based on print catalogs they have received by mail. Once a consumer has received a mailed catalog, he or she is more than twice as likely to buy something online from it. Online sellers generate the most number of online sales through customers who order from print catalog mailing. These customers spend 16% more on the average as compared to customers who did not receive mailed catalogs. Catalog customers are also more likely to become frequent repeat buyers online, with repeat transactions adding an average of 15% more sales. Indeed, having a print catalog on hand is a very convenient reference material for consumers while deciding on purchases to be made online.

Having the print catalog in your target market’s homes or offices also serves as a constant reminder to them of your products and services even while they are offline. It has been observed that 59% of recipients of catalog mailings keep the catalogs for a minimum of three months or until a new catalog arrives in the mail. Imagine the exposure your business gets and the marketing potential in that period.

The distinct advantage of catalog mailings is that they allow your consumers to place their orders online or by phone or mail, if they please. If your brick and mortar store happens to be in the same locality, the catalog mailing will also send you walk in shoppers who would want to see your merchandise first hand.

Of course, you have to make sure that your catalog displays your products and services at their best. Choose a size and design that is most appropriate for your business and that will stand out in the midst of competition. Remember that your target market receives numerous catalogs by mail. Billions of catalogs are actually sent throughout the United States every year.

Avoid having a catalog that looks unprofessional or shoddy. That will reflect very badly on your business image. And will backfire on your goals. Do not cram too much information or images on each page. Make sure that your colors are attractively pleasing to the eye. Check your copy for errors, inaccuracies and vagueness. If possible, hire a professional catalog designer who will know how to lay out your pages for optimum effect, as well as a professional copy writer who can use words to your best advantage. Also ensure that your catalog is printed at the highest quality, looking crisp and inviting. It would be best if you could test a prototype before finally having your catalog printed out in bulk.

Find a reputable mail house that offers catalog mailing services along with business mailings and other fulfillment services, such as presort services, which you will need in your bulk mail advertising campaign. Postal services alone will not be enough for your needs unless you are willing to do much of the work yourself in-house.

Or else, there will be substantial effects, this kind of as cancellation of mail delivery.

Conveniently, there's an limitless array of possibilities for all forms of mailboxes and posts originally produced to indulge any flavor and preference of potential customers. Gone are the days when the designs and kinds of mailboxes were only limited to the fundamental shapes and varieties. At the moment, mailboxes can be custom-made to reflect the owner's completely unique preference and design.

And here we are at the end of our series comparing Linux to Windows. This article lists several additional advantages of Linux that we describe briefly. We would not be surprised if Linux buffs come up with still other advantages that are not mentioned here.

When you seriously get into Linux you become a member of a special community. Whenever you have a Linux problem you can go to an on-line forum. It usually isn't very long before someone has the answer.

You have full access to the complete Linux operating system. You can learn how things actually work. If you enjoy working with some relatively sophisticated, mathematical issues Linux is for you. Don't forget, what may seem to be geeky and oh-so theoretical can have very practical applications.

Plenty of jobs are available to Linux specialists, especially if they are skilled in other LAMP components (the web server Apache, the database management system MySQL, and the web programming language PHP) discussed in previous articles. Don't fool yourself, you can't get a job just by reading these advantages and running all the tutorials. But as the Chinese saying goes; a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. Believe me, this step is a big one.

Linux is international. Among the government organizations that have switched to Linux are the German Agency for Labor, the French Ministry for Education, the American Library of Congress, the Portuguese Ministry of Justice, the Swedish Armed Forces, the Municipal Government of Berlin and Munich, Germany, the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the New Zealand Ministry of Health, the United States Postal Service, the Federal Government of Brazil, Mexico City, the American National Security Agency which is developing its own security enhancements to Linux, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National Aeronautics and Space Agency, the Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria, the United States Navy, and the Northern Territory of Australia. The list goes on.

Last, but not least you can have fun with Linux. I'm not really talking about the games that come with Damn Small Linux or those that you can download. Linux often has a different way of doing things than does Microsoft Windows. You may like the Linux way of doing things and you may not. If you don't like the Linux way, go back to Windows. You won't be alone. But if you do like it, keep up the good work. Just remember, the sky is the limit even if you start with a 50 Megabyte version such as Damn Small Linux.

------

Over the years Levi Reiss has authored or co-authored ten books on computers and the Internet. As you can tell from his wine websites including www.theitalianwineconnection.com he is quite a fan of fine wine, but always in moderation. He teaches various and sundry computer courses including Linux and Windows operating systems at an Ontario French-language community college. Visit his new website http://www.linux4windows.com teaching you how to download and run Damn Small Linux even on that outdated Windows computer which has been gathering dust in the basement.

Having your own postage meter can be a real asset to either an individual or business. Having access to your own meter can help you save time and money as you will no longer need to run to the post office every time you have a package to mail or run out of postage. You can simply weigh the package and then print out the correct amount of postage. Then all you do is arrange for your letter carrier to collect it.

Here is how a postage meter works. You simply sign up with a postage providing company. These companies in turn will send you a meter and a scale. Once you have received your meter you will call the company and purchase your postage. How much you want is up to you unless your company has a minimum requirement.

The company will then give you a code to enter on your meter and then you are all set. You then run your letters through the meter which will postmark and stamp the correct amount of postage. Many of these meters will also seal the envelope for you. If you have a larger package you will just print the postmark on to a specific label and then attach it to your package. Then you are ready for pick up.

Before you sign up for service there are a few things that you should consider. For example, is the meter and their equipment easily upgraded when the postage rates change? With the ever increasing fuel costs postage rates can be expected to raise several times in the next few years. Some companies give you the upgrade for free with your service contract however there are others which require you to pay for the upgrades. So check that first as some companies charge a hefty fee for upgrades.

Another thing you should check for before signing up with a postage meter company is whether they supply you with the supplies. These include the ink for the meter printing and the postage labels. These items can end up costing you or your company a lot of extra expenses so make sure you know what is included in your contract.

When you use a meter for your postage you or your company will need to be careful as there are guidelines that you must follow or you can lose your meter or the privilege of having one. One thing that you must make sure you do is use the correct date when you are metering your mail. You are forbidden from back dating your postage or predating it. The post office takes this very seriously so make sure you check the date before you begin metering your mail.

Having your own meter to run your mail can be a great time saver for you or your company. It allows you to meter both letter and packages of almost any size. It keeps you in your home or office and out of the lines at the post office which can save both your time and money. So you may want to consider running your own mail with a postage meter.

How to understand the Domain Name System

By Clare Lawrence 13th August 2004

Ever wonder why DNS systems came into existence? Efficiency. Every computer has a distinct IP address, and the Internet needed an elite method for obtaining these addresses and for managing the system as a whole. Enter ICANN.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Number manages the DNS root of the Internet domain namespace. ICANN's role is to manage the assignment of identifiers, ensuring that all users have unique names.

The DNS system is run by a series of servers called DNS servers. ICANN manages the root DNS domains, under which are the top-level domains.

It also manages:

Organizational domains

Geographical domains

Reverse domains

Beneath the top-level domains are other naming authorities such as Nominet, the UK's naming authority.

How does a DNS Query work?

The process occurs in two parts. Firstly, a name query begins at a client computer and is passed to DNS client service for resolution. When the query cannot be resolved locally, DNS servers are queried.

For example, when a web browser calls the fully qualified <a href="http://www.discountdomainsuk.com>domain name</a> www.discountdomainsuk.com, the request is passed on to the DNS client service to resolve the name by using locally cached information. If the query is held in the cache, then the process is complete.

If, however, the query cannot be answered locally, the DNS client service uses a server list (ordered in sequence) to query external DNS servers. When a DNS server receives a query, it first checks to see if it is authoritive for that domain name. If it is authoritive, it resolves the name, and the process is complete.

If the DNS server is unable to resolve the query, it in turns queries other DNS servers, using a process known as recursion. DNS servers make use of root hints to assist in locating DNS servers, which are able to provide the required result. In this way, DNS queries are minimised and the Internet is able to operate quickly and effectively.

A typical query may run as follows:

Client contacts Nameserver A looking for www.discountdomainsuk.com

Nameserver A checks its cache, but can't answer, so it queries a server authoritive for the Internet root.

The root server responds with a referral to a server authoritive for the .com domains.

NameserverA queries the the .com server and gets referred to the server authoritive for www.discountdomainsuk.com

Nameserver A queries this server and gets the IP address for www.discountdomainsuk.com.

Nameserver A replies to the client with the IP address.

Queries can return answers that are authoritive, positive, negative or referral in nature. In the event of a negative answer, another DNS server is queried.

Direct mail advertising and catalog mailing are two initiatives that could definitely benefit any business in Miami FL.

Direct mail advertising is much better than more expensive mass media campaigns that are blindly sent out to a wide unclassified audience. With direct mail advertising, your advertising and marketing efforts and costs are specifically targeted to carefully identified market segments, down to individuals who meet your company’s required criteria for certain products and services. This makes for a more cost effective advertising and marketing campaign that could result in more sales in Miami FL.

Catalog mailing is one of the best examples of direct mail advertising that you can do in Miami FL. In fact, it has been proven by research that every year, up to 167 million people in the United States make their purchases from catalogs they receive in the mail. Each person has been found to be making an average of 11 orders in a year. Summed up, that makes $1.8 billion worth of sales from catalog mailing every year. If the purchases of businesses are included, the amount goes up to $150 billion worth of sales from catalog mailing every year.

When your target consumer receives your catalog mailing, it becomes a convenient reference material helping them decide on what to buy. Studies show that with the printed catalog in hand, the consumer is more than twice as likely to buy one of your products online. Statistics show that majority of online sales come from consumers who based their purchases from a catalog received by mail. Such consumers are more valuable than others because they have also been shown to spend an average of 16% more than others. They also often become repeat buyers who make frequent purchases, increasing sales by 15% more on the average.

Aside from encouraging consumers to buy your products or services online, catalog mailing can also give them the option of placing their orders through the phone or through regular mail. When done in the same area as the company’s physical store or office, the catalog can also send you additional walk in shoppers who may be curious to check out your products in person.

Direct mail advertising and catalog mailing is an effective way of introducing your company’s products and services to your prospects in order to establish brand recognition and recall. You can use them for your current customers, too, giving them information about your other products, aside from the ones they are already using. Furthermore, your direct mail advertising and catalog mailing campaign can be used to strengthen your relationship with your clients by being a venue for their feedback and for a continuing dialogue between you. You can also use the mailing campaign to reward them with discount coupons and freebies.

One of the advantages of direct mail advertising and catalog mailing is that both can be adjusted depending on the size of your firm’s budget. You can make it as small or as large as you need or want. You can even intentionally launch a mini campaign first in Miami FL for the purpose of testing, tracking and measuring responses. Results can then be used to make the subsequent larger campaign more efficient and effective, ensuring higher revenue per cost.

To assist you with your direct mail advertising and catalog mailing efforts, postal services are sometimes not enough especially when you will be handling bulk mail. Find a professional mail house that offers business mailing services. Make sure that they offer fulfillment services such as presort services. With this simple step, your business is on its way to success in Miami FL.

It can be simple to overlook, but believe it or not, Pitney Bowes postage meters can actually benefit just about any small business. Any enterprise worth its weight has to deal with letters, billing invoices, packages, and any number of parcels that are shipped using postage. Some businesses don't believe themselves to be adequate enough to need postage meters, when in fact they are.

There are many different postage meters from Pitney Bowes that can accommodate any size business. For small businesses, delivering a few letters or packages, invoices, or bills can often seem like buying dollar items at the local store. It never seems like much at the time, but when you begin to add those small purchases up over time, the amount can be quite surprising. This same notion applies to postage and dispatching letters.

If a small business sends out an average of five letters, invoices, or packages per day, that means that journeys to and from the post office are required. Every journey made costs time and gas, assuming that trip is made by automobile. These minor expenses don't seem significant until, like the example given, they are added up over time. The costs can begin to add up relatively fast. Pitney Bowes knows this as well as any company, that's why their series of postage meters offer different options and capacities.

How many times have you added extra stamps to a letter because you thought it might be over the weight limit for standard postage? If you simply double the postage, then you have been paying more than you should on these letters. A postage meter from Pitney Bowes solves this situation by weighing and calculating the expense to send the item based on its origin and destination.

Every time you add forty-two cents to a letter or package uselessly is money you are taking away from the health of the business. A postage meter is a wonderful solution to over-stamping, as the term is known.

Also, perhaps your business only sends a person to the post office on an as-needed basis. However, are you conscious of how often that need arises? Sometimes outgoing mail builds up, waiting for a once-a-week trip. That's fine, but each day an invoice sits in the outbox is a day your revenue won't be working for you. Having a Pitney Bowes postage meter in your office can allow you the occasion to send out mail on a daily, and as-needed basis.

Add onto that the time that you, or an employee, has to take out of their productivity to journey to the post office and wait in line to have letters, packages, or other items weighed and the postage calculated. There's no reason to forfeit productivity in order to have a steady flow of mail leaving your business. Pitney Bowes postage meters offer the ability for any size business to streamline their business and, ultimately, maximize their profits and boost the bottom line.

Christopher Ulrich is the publisher of PostageSpecials.com which covers the Pitney Bowes which include Pitney MailStation and gives you $100 in free postage when companies register online. Learn what amount your company can save by taking advantage of a Pitney postage meter.

Section 415.20 (b) of the California Civil Code Of Procedure States: If a copy of the summons and complaint cannot with reasonable
diligence be personally delivered to the person to be served, as
specified in Section 416.60, 416.70, 416.80, or 416.90, a summons may
be served by leaving a copy of the summons and complaint at the
person's dwelling house, usual place of abode, usual place of
business, or usual mailing address other than a United States Postal
Service post office box, in the presence of a competent member of the
household or a person apparently in charge of his or her office,
place of business, or usual mailing address other than a United
States Postal Service post office box, at least 18 years of age, who
shall be informed of the contents thereof, and by thereafter mailing
a copy of the summons and of the complaint by first-class mail,
postage prepaid to the person to be served at the place where a copy
of the summons and complaint were left. Service of a summons in this
manner is deemed complete on the 10th day after the mailing.

Most process servers understand dwelling house or usual place of abode to mean the actual place where the person is currently staying. It has, however, been our experience that this means the official residence or place where the person is currently staying. We have found that most courts consider the dwelling house to be where the person is currently staying and the usual place of abode
to mean the persons permanent residence, ie: the person lives with his parents but is currently away at school. The persons dwelling house would be where he is currently staying while in school and his usual place of abode would be his parents house where he returns on vacations and when school is on break and where he expects to return when he finishes school. The same applies if the person is currently in the hospital,
away on a business trip or is on a vacation.

Usual place of business can mean different things. Say a person works every day in a factory on 8th St., that of course would be a usual place of business. Say a Doctor is on staff and shows up for work regularly at ABC Hospital. He also rents office space from a doctor's group at another location where he also sees paitents. It has been our experience that both places could be
considered the Doctors usual place of business.

Usual mailing address other than a United States Postal Service post office box. Usual mailing address can be a private mail box service or any other place (Other than a U.S Post Office branch.) that the subject uses as a mailing address. This does not mean that the person must actually pick up or receive the mail. It only means that the person must use the address as a mailing address. Some people in order to evade creditors or others give out mailing addresses but never pick up the mail. If a person directs people to send that person's mail to a certain address then that address can be considered a usual place of mailing as the server would have no way of verifying
that the mail is actually picked up.

Competent member of the household does not mean family member. It means anyone who resides at that residence, including full time live in nannys, maids, gardeners, friends, etc.. As long as the person resides ther full time they can be considered members of the household.

Person apparently in charge does not mean, as some process servers believe, a manager or officer of the business or place of mailing. It means "the person apparently in charge. If, at an office, the receptionist will not let the process server see anyone else in the office, then the receptionist is the highest person in charge that the server can serve. If the only person who works at a mail box service says that he or she is only a clerk, that person is still the person apparently in charge.

Serving a complaint in a gated community or security building where the security guard will not allow entrance. On May 28, 1992, in the case of Robert Bein vs Bechtel-Jochim, the California Court Of Appeals held that a guard gate does constitute part of the dwelling and therefore the guard is a competent member within the dwelling. The court reasoned that if a process server is not permitted to proceed to the actual residence, then the outer bounds of the actual dwelling place must be deemed to extend to the location at which the process server's progress is arrested.

Reasonable diligence has been interpreted differently in different jurisdictions, however, we have found that if three attempts are made at least eight hours apart and if at least two of those attempts are made at the address wher the papers are served then a substituted service on the fourth attempt is usually considered valid.

Even before many philatelists thought up the hobby of stamp collecting, it is rather obvious that the act of exchanging letters through a centralized system that would recognize stamps as payment to cover carriage costs would have to be put in place. The American Philatelic Society (APS), which is the biggest convention of philatelists and collectors in the entire world, is predated by the United States Postal Service.

For more than two centuries now, the United States Postal Service has delivered mail-letters and cards-in huge volumes to all its mailboxes situated in all of the states, including Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, and the American Virgin Islands. It serves 7.5 million customers daily through over 37, 000 postal offices, and providing employment for more than 700, 000 career employees.

While the numbers are overwhelming, the huge network of the USPS only means one thing to stamp collectors and philatelists-this means the issue of a huge volume of stamps with great variety delivered to millions of homes daily. To approximate more closely, the USPS delivers 212 billion pieces of mail on average to over 144 million houses.

The USPS caters to philatelists and stamp enthusiasts in other active avenues other than simply delivering letters to them. In fact, the USPS is the primary source of stamps that are continuously being collected by philatelists in the United States of America, and subsequently, the rest of the world.

However, the USPS and the stamps it issues every year is not the singular pulse of the staff of USPS. Instead, every year, the designs issued on USPS stamps beat the pulse of the entire nation, thus reflecting American history at its best. Every year, the postal service receives thousands of design proposals from Americans on thousands of themes that may be featured in stamps. Through what is known as the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee (CSAC) goes over this huge volume of submissions in order to recommend to the Postmaster General educational and interesting subjects for consideration.

Because the CSAC employs no assistance or staff for its purposes, it takes a huge amount of time before a stamp is taken into regard. Subject submissions must be done in writing to provide each submission an equal opportunity of being reviewed and selected. A design proposed for a particular year must be submitted three years in advance of the proposed date of issuance.

If the stamp proposal meets all the requirements of CSAC, it may at the end be chosen as one of the subjects forwarded for the approval of the Postmaster General. Otherwise, submissions may undergo to courses of action-either they will be rejected completely or put for future consideration. However, if the stamp is indeed chosen among thousands of submissions, it will be one of the 25 stamp proposals recommended to be made into commemorative stamps, alongside the extensive line issued by the Postal Service each year.
If the proposal is set aside for future consideration, the submission will be put into file for the Committee to refer to in the future for when the submitted proposal is relevant.

As for the translation of these proposals into designs, the Postal Service employs the services of trained stamp artists to bring these stamps to life.

These commemorative stamps, alongside the regular issue stamps of the Postal Service, are made accessible to the public and to the philatelists through the various USPS postal offices as well as the convenient USPS Postal Store. In the Postal Store, the general public is offered stamps for mailing and shipping purposes, for leisure purposes, for collecting, and for education.

Under the various items for collecting are the traditional first-day covers, commemorative panels, state quarters and stamps, and uncut press sheets. Non-stamp items include miniature mailboxes, which may be used to store stamps, lapel pins with stamp designs, as well as collecting supplies.

First-day covers are stamps attached to envelopes and are cancelled on the same day that they are issued. Commemorative panels are a number of commemorative stamps in an attractive layout, including information on the event, state, or person being commemorated by the stamp. Stamp quarters and stamps is, collectively, a portfolio containing a number of quarters of the state and some stamps featuring the state, alongside pertinent facts and information.

Alongside these collectibles offered by USPS, they also cater to, of course, the provision of the most basic and most important part of stamp collecting-the stamps. This would include 39-cent First Class stamps, the regular 37-cent stamps, additional stamps, priority stamps, and stamps in coils, panes, or stamp books.

At the end of the day, the USPS fuels the continually growing hobby of philately and stamp collecting. Through its help, Americans and enthusiasts worldwide are given access to a continuous supply of stamps, and are given assurance that the stamps will keep on reflecting the strong and vibrant American spirit.

Postage scales are quite useful items which all individuals should consider purchasing to have in their home and office if they do quite a bit of mailing via the United States Postal Service. These scales which were once hard to find are easily purchased through various avenues these days. The following will describe the usefulness of a postage scale as well as where you can buy these items.

Postage scales are useful for many reasons. First, they provide individuals with the convenience of mailing letters and packages from home. Those who are not fortunate enough to have a postage scale in their home or office may not be able to mail items from their home or office location as they do not know how much an item weighs and therefore are unable to put the right amount of postage on the item. By having this item right where you need it you can weigh the letter or package, determine the postage amount and send it right off from the convenience of your home or office. This convenience allows you to have more productive time instead of needing to rush out to the post office when you need to mail something other than a standard letter.

Another useful quality of the postage scale is that it prevents you from overpaying for postage. Those who do not have a postage type of scale in their home or office but mail items from those locations may in fact be overpaying for sending the item out. Some individuals will put more postage on the letter or package than is necessary to do so in order to ensure that it reaches its destination and is not returned to them for insufficient postage. When this overpayment is added up little by little the final overpaid price can be quite hefty. Therefore, buying a scale to determine postage to keep in your home or office is a wise idea as it will pay for itself by preventing you from overpaying in the way of stamps.

When you have decided that buying a postage scale is in your best interest, the next step is to find a place to buy it. Buying this type of item online may be your best bet for a few different reasons. First, by using this method you can purchase the item from the convenience of your own home. Secondly, it is the type of item which is simple in function which does not usually need your strict attention to detail and does not propel you to have to view it at a local store in order to determine if it is right for you. Lastly, you can usually get the best deal on many different products including this type of scale by purchasing the item online. However, should you find that buying the item online is neither desirable nor possible for you to do so then you can always find a variety of postage scales at office supply stores in your area.

It has been established through experience that direct mail advertising is one of the most effective marketing tools that businesses can use. Among the best practices in direct mail advertising are catalog mailing services. But do you know how your Miami FL business can use catalog mailing services effectively?

The advantages of using catalog mailing services are numerous. For one, it has been proven by many companies to be one of the best means of selling all kinds of products and services. Every year, about 167 million people make their purchases from catalogs they receive in the mail. Each of these consumers buy an average of 11 orders every year. Computed, that sums up into 1.8 billion worth of sales each year. If the purchases of these individual buyers are combined with purchases made business-to-business, it racks up to some $150 billion worth of sales each year.

Statistics show that about half of all consumers today do their online shopping by referring to the printed catalogs sent to them through the mail. It has also been shown that when a consumer receives a printed catalog by mail, this consumer becomes twice more likely to purchase something from the catalog through the internet. In fact, sellers on the internet report that majority of their online sales come from customers who are ordering from a printed catalog received in the mail.

Even better news comes from the fact that such consumers have been found to be spending 16 percent more than customers who have not received catalog mailing. It has also been found that consumers who make their purchases from mailed catalogs become frequent online buyers, making repeated transactions that result in an average of 15 percent more in sales.

For your catalog mailing services to be effective, your printed catalog should be able to showcase your products and services in the best possible way. Even the size you choose for your catalog should be appropriate to the type of products and services you are promoting. Fashion catalogs, for example, should not be too small. The design of your catalog should likewise suit your products and services and should raise it above the competition. After all, your target market is surely receiving a whole slew of other catalogs in the mail. In every single year in the United States, billions of catalog mailings are done.

Everything about your catalog should look professional and never shoddy. Your photographs should have high resolution and should be crisp. They should be taken by a professional photographer. You should employ a stylist who will ensure that your products and services are photographed in the most attractive way. Your choice of models in the photographs will also have a great impact. The colors in the photographs should be planned in relation to the colors that will be used in the catalog layout and the text.

You should hire a professional copy writer and a professional layout artist for your catalog. The text should be simple, clear and catchy. There should be no errors whatsoever. The right words should be used to get your desired effect. The layout should be pleasing and should present your products and services effectively. Excessive information and images should not be stuffed into every page. The quality of printing is also crucial for the success of your catalog.

Finally, you should find yourself a professional mail house that includes catalog mailing services in its list of services. It should have all the necessary expertise in business mailings and related fulfillment services, including presort services. You will need all these services in your bulk mail advertising campaign. Remember that many of these are not offered by postal services.

If you have been injured in a Michigan accident with a United States Postal Truck or other federally owned car or vehicle, you need to be aware that there is an entirely different set of laws for filing those cases. The failure to comply with those laws and requirements will completely destroy your case. These laws are different for these types of car accidents because the federal government is the party that must be sued in the lawsuit.

In the United States you may not sue the Federal government or it's employees for negligently causing personal injuries except to the extent the Federal government will let you. The United States government does give its citizens permission to sue it for personal injuries, but only under certain conditions and only if you follow certain procedures. The set of Federal laws that outline these conditions and procedures is referred to as "The Federal Tort Claims Act."

Under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) notice of an injury claim must be made within 2 years of the car accident or truck accident to the appropriate Federal Agency that caused the automobile accident, like the U.S. Postal service. This is shorter than the three year statute of limitations for filing a car accident case in Michigan. Notice must be made by completing an administrative claim form, also known as a Form 95. You must properly complete the form for all claims, including both personal injury claims and property damage claims. If the claim is denied, you have only six months from the date of the denial to to file your lawsuit against that federal agency.

Victims of auto accidents do have legal rights and should pursue them immediately after the accident. When choosing your Federal Tort Claims Act lawyer, it is key to choose the right lawyer so that you may receive a fair settlement. Your car accident lawyer can also help you receive all of your No-Fault Insurance benefits, including medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care services, and other benefits.

The injuries resulting from truck accidents are serious and often fatal. Cases involving death give rise to a Michigan Wrongful Death Lawsuit.

Common injuries from these tragic truck accidents include:

Closed head/traumatic brain injury

Spinal cord injuries, including quadraplegia and paraplegia

Broken bones and Fractures

Back and neck injuries

Shoulder injuries

Knee injuries

Scarring and disfigurement

Road rash requiring significant skin grafts

Permanent disability

Burn injuries

Amputation injury

Buying your postage online will put an end to long lineups at the post office, discourteous clerks who are overworked and you having to meet deadlines for packages that may take you away from your office when there are other things you must do. If this is the route you would like to try you will quickly learn that there are a host of services that can offer you the convenience of sending letters and packages by using web based mailing services.

These services can be offered through the post office, they have many options, or companies that have arrangements with the postal service to allow them to handle your mail. It will simply be a case of investigating your options and choosing one that is convenient to use, where the rates and services being offered are good, and the hassles are minimal. You can find a list of services that can be provided and the companies providing them on the website for the United States postal service.

If it is the postal service itself you choose to deal with you will find that they are able to handle only low volume online services where you will want to send the odd package, a few packages each day or where you are looking to send your letters by priority or express mail.

They can provide you, through their web based service, delivery confirmations by getting a signature as proof for a low cost. Your shipments can be insured and this too can be done over the internet. The United States postal service offers you these choices in getting your postage online without a monthly fee like many of the other services require. They charge you only for what you use.

If it is one of the mailing services you choose instead they will enable you to print your shipping labels and your postage labels directly from your computer. They will provide you with a postage scale to weigh your parcels so that you can then input the weight and the destination into your computer to automatically get the right cost of sending.

Most of these services will give you a short trial period to make sure you are happy with the way their service works for you. The best part is that if you are satisfied you will never have to leave your home or office to get your parcels or letters mailed. They will pick them up for you as part of their service. As well, these postage online companies will bring you supplies when you run low.

The problem with many direct mail programs is that they are very expensive and, therefore, eat up an individual's profits before he or she can have the chance to make a legitimate income. These programs include both direct mail software and mailing house solutions, as both of these types of distribution are far too expensive, especially if someone is just starting out in real estate investing. The good news, however, is that these options are no longer needed in the business world because Click2Mail now offers an inexpensive solution. The method that Click2Mail uses in order to give their customers these savings is definitely unique, but it works like a charm because it is something that no one else has been able to offer.

Click2Mail prides itself in its ability to offer direct mail options over the internet for a fraction of the cost of other companies. The reason that it is able to do this is that the company operates under the license of the United States Postal Service, which definitely gives it a distinct advantage. Click2Mail is able to save its customers money on absolutely anything that they send out, making it perfect for the direct mail industry. In addition, this service allows changes to be made to mailing lists in an instant, since it can be updated online. Click2Mail provides solutions to every aspect of this industry, so it might be time to switch over and take advantage of this option from the United States Postal Service.

All you have to do in order to get involved with Click2Mail is upload a mailing list and then sign up for an online account. Click2Mail will then take care of every other aspect of your direct mail campaign for you, as they can provide competitive rates on both printing and mailing. Other companies know that you are desperate to get your message out and, therefore, will charge you far more for the printing and mailing than Click2Mail, but this is not a problem that you have to worry about any longer. The best part is that it does not matter how many or how few letters you are sending out, you will still be able to find a great deal when you go through this company. The benefits that are available through Click2Mail are endless, as you will never find an easier or more cost friendly way to get your message out there than through this service.

When you log onto the company's website, you will be presented with a number of different design options that will ensure that your letter looks exactly how you want it to. The browser based design technology is state of the art, which makes it easy to use and extremely accurate. This technology also works hard to drive down prices, as everything can be handled through your web browser. When you do your direct mailing through Click2Mail, you will not experience any of the problems that you are used to when sending out your mail, as the company has spent a lot of time streamlining the entire process for organizations like yours.

The reason why other types of mailing are so difficult is that you would be responsible for sorting, labeling, paying for postage, and then driving all of your letters to the post office. You would also have to personally maintain your mailing list and make sure that everyone on your list has a letter, which takes a great deal of time. Click2Mail, however does all of this for about the same price of a stamp, so you can imagine how much time and money you will save if your mailing list has thousands of names on it.

This service can also be used for personal or other professional use, such as sending out a Thank You card. If you do not want to address multiple envelopes to people all over the country, you can simply write your letter on Click2Mail and insert the addresses into your mailing list. Each of these people will then receive a copy of your Christmas card, without you having to do much more than write the original letter. There is simply no easier way to get your mail out there than through this service and it has led a revitalization in the direct mail marketplace.

Basically, Click2Mail is like combining email and conventional mail into one package, as you will create a digital message that will arrive in people's mailboxes, rather than their email inboxes. The United States Postal Service delivers letters to countless people every year and they will continue to do so well into the future. People trust the USPS because of their motivation to provide their customers with everything that they desire.

If you have used direct mail marketing in the past, you might have been disappointed with the results, especially if you used some real estate software that was meant to handle everything for you. The problem with this software is that it does not tap into the low prices of the USPS the way that Click2Mail does, so you will always end up paying more when you use it. There are very few certainties in life, but one thing that you can be certain of when you use Click2Mail is that you will find low prices and that your letters will arrive when they are supposed to. This is truly the future of direct mail, so make sure that you take advantage of this quick and easy way to market your business and you will not regret your decision.

The U.S. Postal Service is revolutionizing the way mail is prepared and paid for. You will no longer print paper postage statements. The USPS has been hand entering over 14 million postage statements a year. The USPS needs to find ways to cut costs and improve accuracy. Intelligent Mail Full Service will be available in May 2009. You can start submitting your postage statements electronically now and reduce the costs of printing and storing paper documents, and be more prepared for Intelligent Mail Full Service.

USPS PostalOne!® provides an online solution for business mailers now. You can transmit electronic postage payments and mailing documents online without having to print paper statements.

This electronic revolution from paper postage statements to electronic postage payment system will yield many benefits to both business mailers and the Postal Service. It will eliminate the time it takes for postal clerks to hand enter postage statements. It gives the USPS a view into what is coming so they can better plan for the flow of mail. It reduces the time it takes you to get your mail accepted because the data will already be at the USPS facility when your mail arrives. It gives you and your mailing stakeholders (mail owner or mailing agent for example) an online view of what has been mailed and accepted.

The postal clerks will no longer have to key in postage data since they would be receiving the information electronically from the mailer. This system has the potential to save the USPS many millions of dollars per year in labor savings and improved accuracy. This will benefit mailers as well by speeding up the acceptance and verification process.

Mail owners can download their statements from PostalOne! and use them for postage accounting and reporting. You can receive your postage data directly from PostalOne! and put it into your accounting systems for postage reconciliation and budget planning. This automated system is much faster and more accurate and you will be able to benefit from postage discounts by exchanging eDocs with the Postal Service.

There are currently three ways to send eDocs using PostalOne! system: Mail.dat®, Wizard Web Services, and Postage Statement Wizard®. Mail.dat is the industry standard database set by IDEAlliance and consists of files which provide information about a mailing. Mail.dat is the most efficient way to update and edit your presort information before transmitting mailing data with the Postal Service. It is ideal for midsize and large mailers.

The Wizard Web Services option is being replaced by Mail.XML in 2009.

Postage Statement Wizard is for small mailings (less than 10,000 pieces) that do not need a qualification report. It is accessed through your web browser and does require you to hand enter most of the data.

Please get going with eDocs and PostalOne! now. It takes time to go through the steps of getting your Mailer ID(s), getting your PostalOne! User ID and password, going through the PostalOne! CAT and parallel testing. You will also need time to train your staff on the new processes and procedures.

It is not a question of if mailers will go to eDocs, it is just a question of when. Now is the time to start and get your approvals. eDocs will help you save time with speedier mail acceptance and verification, give other stakeholders in your mailing (mail owners or mail service providers for example) access to valuable data, reduce tedious manual labor by automating procedures, benefit from improved postage data management, and help USPS reduce its costs (remember we are in a work share cooperative environment).

This revolutionary mailing system will benefit everyone in the long run by enhancing automation, reducing costs, and enabling valuable discounts.

To best prosper from these eDoc solutions, it is best if you have post Presort software to edit your mailing data before you upload it, maintain a database of all postal activity, download the verified postal statements after processed by USPS, manage the data, report on mailing activity, and transmit the data with others in the mailing supply chain.

Now, small business owners can take advantage of postage scales. A postage scale weighs your parcels and letters to give you an accurate reading of how much the postage will cost. If the USPS price of postage goes up, you simply need to adjust your postage meter accordingly. This is typically done through a microchip. If you need to update your scale for the correct postage, you would simply purchase another microchip, and then adjust your scale accordingly.

Some scales will give you a comparison rate for other services such as UPS, DHL, and Fed Ex. This is a major benefit that allows your business to save even more money by practicing economical savings.

Postage Meter for your Shipping Supplies

The postage meter differs from your postal scale in the fact that your meter is the part that actually stamps the postage on your mail. A postal scale simply gives you a weight. According to federal law the USPS cannot sell a postage meter - they can only lease one to you.

Your postage meter will save you tremendously on your shipping supplies. Not only can you handle major shipping projects from the comfort of your home office, you can conveniently have all of your business mail professionally stamped with the "metered" mark.

If your business spends more than fifty dollars per month in shipping, then you will most likely benefit from a leased Postage Meter. Your Postage Meter will hold up to $1,000 worth of postage at a time. If you need to order more postage, you can hook your phone line to your meter and download more postage from your USPS store. This saves time in the fact that you won't have to keep running off the store, every time you want to mail a business letter or package.

Digital Postage and Shipping UPS Scales

You can also purchase digital shipping scales that are compatible with UPS. These scales are perfect for both shipping and receiving. A Postage UPS scale is perfect for mailrooms and handling office mail. Again, make sure that your selected scale of choice can handle the weight limits that you need as well as weighs in the form that you require.

Some features that may help influence your choice of UPS scale include, easy digital readouts, ability to connect your UPS scale to a computer, readings in precision increments, shock and overload protected, ability to handle gross weight measurements, and rechargeable batteries.

By using UPS compatible scales, you can rest assured that your business will be able to handle all of its mailroom needs, shipping and packaging needs, as well as handle weights for warehouse operations.

Postal and courier services have undergone a radical change in the past two decades. The national postal services and private courier companies not only contribute towards the revenue of their economies, but they also raise the employment opportunities. The process of global communication has become faster than before due to the contribution of this service sector.

So, what types of changes have been introduced in the postal and courier services in past tow decades? And how different countries have benefited out of the growth of this service sector? The following discussion provides information about the role of postal and courier industry at the global level.

Effect of Electronic Communication

The electronic communication has significantly contributed towards two-way communication. Many people use electronic media to communicate through emails as it is fast and available round the clock. However, the need of sending parcels can't be fulfilled by the use of electronic communication.

Moreover, the electronic communication and electronic commerce has added to the need of having efficient postal and courier services. The companies doing businesses online need to ship their products on right time to the national and international destinations. So, the electronic trading has encouraged the countries to have effective postal and courier systems.

Postal Service Sector in Two Different Economies

The postal industry in the United States had 36,496 establishments in the year 2009. Moreover, it provided employment to over 700,000 people. At the same time, the postal and courier services in India have recently seen a big development in the form of WorldNet Express, a unique internationally acclaimed express delivery service. This promises to enable the Indian postal services to reach over 200 countries.

These statistics show that the postal and courier services have emerged as a powerful service sector in the developed as well as the developing nations. The laws and regulations in different countries too have contributed towards the growth of the postal and courier industry. Here are some legal requirements for the service providers:

The courier and postal business owners must possess license to operate. Besides, the employees working for them should have legal vehicle driving license.
Those delivering inflammable products and other similar items should have the license to transport them.
The standards, codes of practices and legal guidelines of the postal and courier industry in a particular region must be followed.

Dependence on Other Service Sectors

The postal and courier services in a country are highly dependent upon various other service sectors. For example, storage services are required to store the big parcels and shipped goods. Packaging services are required to ensure safe and secure packaging of products for shipment. Then, transportation services are required to deliver the products on time and with safety. So, the postal and courier sector to succeed should have the support from various other service sectors.

The use of technologies like RFID systems has further increased the importance and efficiency of the postal and courier services. The upcoming years too are going to witness the rise in popularity and success of these services at the global level.

The set of Federal laws that outline these conditions and procedures is referred to as 'The Federal Tort Claims Act.'

There is a large population of people that find cluster mailbox units aggravating and inconvenient due to the fact they require a resident to walk outside of their home to a community mail unit to retrieve their mail.

Sometimes the cluster mailbox is very near to the resident's living quarters but sometimes it's not.

However, using cluster mailbox units is growing, especially in areas of townhouse development.

These kinds of mailboxes are being used for various reasons, with one being the reduction of work they require of the mail service workers.

Cluster mailboxes require the mail carrier to make fewer stops, and that's why they are heavily supported by the United States Postal Service.

The size of the development determines how many cluster box units are installed. Smaller developments may have only one group of boxes for the whole community while larger developments may have cluster box units scattered throughout the community to make it more convenient for the residents.

Cluster boxes were very much opposed when they were first introduced in the 70s and 80s. Because homeowners were accustomed to reaching outside their front door into their house mail box or accustomed to walking only the short distance to their curb to retrieve their mail, they felt cluster mailboxes left them with the chore of walking much further to get their mail items. In fact, they felt cluster mailboxes were only used due to laziness of mail carriers at the time.

Of course, things have changed dramatically and today residents aren't as worried about the short walk to the cluster mail box units. Many young people are so accustomed to seeing them in apartment or townhome communities that they don't even think twice about cluster mailboxes being used. They realize cluster mailboxes offer security and convenience for the overall population.

While they may not offer great convenience for some residents and families, cluster mailboxes do offer high security for those living in highly populated areas. Cluster mailboxes come with locks and keys, which allow the mail to be much safer than it otherwise would be in a unlocked curbside mailbox.

Of course, the fact the cluster mailboxes are out in the open also make them naturally more secure. In addition, with a larger emphasis on walking and getting any type of physical exercise possible, people are less likely to complain about a larger walk to get their mail.

Oliver Jenkins authors articles about locking mailboxes and preventing mail theft. Locking mailboxes are practically bulletproof. They'll help stop those identity thieves cold.
