The Offical Blackbbok Price Guide to United States Postage Stamps is official – in title only. Referencing the Scott Catalogues or checking with a stamp apprasier is the best way to get an idea of the value of a postage stamp. (Many of the Scott Catalogues are available in paperback and on CD-ROM.) Also the Blackbook has a limited number of colored pages – the front and back cover only. All other pages are in black & white. If you can afford it – go with the Scott Catalogues. For a wonderful, relatively inexpensive color guide to United States Postage Stamps, I highly recommend The Postal Service Guide to U.S. Stamps or the Scott U.S. Pocket Stamp Catalogue. Forget the Blackbook – it’s over marketed.
